6-8 members (6 players on the court,with the option for two substitutes per team)

Teams and conditions


1.General

1.Players are expected to have read and agreed to the "Terms and Conditions" prior to submitting an entry.

2.The laws of play and scoring shall be as per the laws of badminton outlined by the Badminton World Federation (overview of rules and scoring).

3.The knockout rounds will be played in a 31-point format.The top eight of Group B, the top 4 of A/B/C and the final will be played in a best-of-3-games system according to the current BWF rules, with a score of 21 points (with setting).

4.All events will be played on a round-robin basis in the preliminary rounds, followed by elimination draws for play-offs, where numbers permit.

5.Volunteer will serve as umpires or line judges.

6.Alternative Service Law 9.1.6 will be used

2.Entries

1.This Tournament is open to A, B, and C grade players. Any prior division experience requires a player to enter the respective grade.

Please note: SKYKIWI Committee reserves the right to move players between grades at their discretion.

3.Draw

1.The draw will be released on Saturday morning 27 April 2024

4.Withdrawals / Refund Details

1.Players who withdraw prior to entry closure may find a replacement of a similar level before entry closure. (Note: Players will not be eligible for a refund if a replacement has been found).

2.No refunds will be given under any circumstances regarding the participants.

3.In the event of the cancellation of the tournament or individual events, players will be issued a refund.

4.In the event that unexpected circumstances put the tournament on hold, if there is adequate time to continue with the tournament, no refunds shall be issued.

5.In the event of unexpected circumstances preventing matches from being played (power outages etc.), players will be provided with a refund for the event that they missed out on if all reasonable attempts to resume the competition and finish on time fail.

5.Round Robin Ranking

Box rankings will be determined by regular round robin rules; placings will be decided by the greatest number of matches won. Should more than one player be equal on the number of matches won, then ranking shall be dictated by the following:

1.If two pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner will be established by the difference between games won and games lost, with the greater difference ranking higher.

2.If this still leaves two pairs equal, the winner will be established by the greatest number of points won, with the greater number of points ranking higher.

3.If this still leaves two pairs equal, the winner of their respective head-to-head game will be ranked higher.

4.If three pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner will be established by difference between games won and games lost, with the greater difference ranking higher.

5.If this still leaves three pairs equal, the winner will be established by the greatest number of points won, with the greater number of points ranking higher.

6.A match conceded due to illness, injury, or other unavoidable incident shall count as if completed without the conceding side scoring another point.
